Albert has delighted audiences with his piano and vocal renditions of standards, jazz, blues, swing, latin, gospel, and pop/rock in restaurants, bars, casinos, banquet halls, hotels, and private homes. His impressive catalogue includes over 600 songs dating from the 1920s on. He has devoted many years to uncovering the gems of the past, and enjoys sharing them with others.
Background Albert is a classically trained pianist who studied music at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Since his early classical days, he has accompanied singers, played in bands, busked on the street, sung in choirs, recorded, played lounge piano in restaurants and bars, performed at weddings, receptions, cocktail parties, and trade shows. He has enjoyed and learned much in the world of music, entertainment, and performance. Recent venues have included the Chateau Laurier, NAC, the Casino du Lac Leamy, Thousand Islands Casino (Gananoque), Rideau Club, hotels, golf clubs, restaurants and bars, and private homes. He loves beautiful songs, lush harmonies, lyrical melodies, jazz textures, and free improvisations. Other tunes include jazz instrumental classics from Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Theolonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, Bill Evans, and more. For the more contemporary-minded Albert can provide music from the pop/rock classics to more recent material, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, America, Neil Young, Billy Joel, Elton John, Blue Rodeo, The Moody Blues, The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Blood Sweat and Tears, Eric Clapton, Jim Croce, and more.
