The humble beginning, having recorded my own radio shows since I was 8 years old, always staying on top of music and having a love for entertainment, it was at a grade 8 school dance where I saw a DJ playing tunes for my school that made me decide to get into DJing, you would most likely think I was amazed by how he got everyone dancing and people were raving about him, not quite. In fact he played the same style of music the entire time and people were complaining about him, I said to myself I could do a better job than this. I returned home and told my father the story he saw my potential knowing my love of music and equipment and said why don't you do it then?  With my family's help I began to get into it and at the very same school Hopewell P.S. here in Ottawa I performed for the first time to a crowd at only 14 I was instantly hooked and received great reviews.

Soon I began to perform at the Glebe Community Centre for monthly youth dances, then Glebe High School and then on to private functions and finally wedding receptions.

At 15 still having my dad drive me to gigs I arrived to a wedding reception, and when the bride saw me sitting behind the equipment she became very nervous, and upset to see someone so young about to DJ her wedding. Understandably the bride was nervous that I was not experienced, with no choice she gave me a chance, and after the music was over she came up to me and apologised profusely for her initial reaction.  This is when I realised I was in the right line of business.

After several years and doing work for several Ottawa companies I decided it was time to head into business seriously and in 2002 started Advanced Entertainment Ottawa. I worked for the first almost two years as a single operator and continued to do some work for other companies. I did work for Performance Disc Jockeys and continued to receive good feedback and when then owner and founder Wayne Hutchings decided it was time to move on from the DJ business, I purchased his company to carry on his 15 years of excellent service and expanded my own company.  Advanced Entertainment Ottawa, Performance D.J.s. is now becoming a reputable Ottawa company based on referrals and repeat business from our clients and their guests.
